Snowglobe Moments

I went to shut out the lights, kiss the furbabies goodnight, and draw the draperies last night. Headed for the foyer light, I looked outside to see the most magical, glittery blanket of snow had gently covered everything. Even though it was midnight, the streetlights lit up our yellow house like a ray of sunshine. I begged my husband to walk in it with me... and so we walked.
The city was quiet and the snow softly fell and made everything look more beautiful,
like we were looking into a snowglobe, just shaken and filled with glitter.
I usually gripe all winter about the snow and the cold, but this year...
I have been grateful for moments like this.
Grateful to walk hand in hand with my husband
in our boots and mittens.
Quietly making fresh footsteps
in the places we have walked
so many times before.

I will continue to strive to notice more snowglobe moments.
